On Sunday, October 30th East Hills once again held one of its greatest events known as the SPOOKTACULAR. The event, which was held at the Village Hall, had to be relocated to the asphalt roadway in order to deal with the prior rains and snow. The day was filled with carnival games, mechanical rides, slides, inflatable amusements, and mazes which were fun for all ages. It also offered innovative food vendors in trailers, food from Lontza, and much more.
All the excitement was met with rave reviews for the originality of rides and the added attractions at the event.
There was something for everyone. In the afternoon there was even a Halloween Dog Parade. In all over twenty dogs participated in celebrating what will now become a great tradition. Dressed in costume, the dogs seemed to enjoy the walk with their owners and the special attention that was shown to them.
The SPOOKTACULAR Committee which planned, organized and ran the event is led by Erica Montalbano, chair, and includes Jackie Wachsman, Shawn Goldberg. Deputy Mayor Manny Zuckerman and Trustee Clara Pomerantz who serve as co-supervising Trustees.
Mayor Michael Koblenz credited Erica Montalbano with having produced some of the most successful events for the Village. "She is dynamic and effective"
and "we are very appreciative to her and the committee for planning such a wonderful and enjoyable day for everyone."
