WOMEN'S SOFTBALL LEAGUE OFF TO A GREAT START IN EAST HILLS
|
|
There's yet another first that's happened in East Hills. A new women's softball league has been launched after years of false starts and attempts. The success is credited to the leadership of Clara Pomerantz, Jana Goldenberg and Stacey Siegel. Together, they planned, organized and set-up the League. Now, the fun has begun. The softball competition involves thrilling play, and plenty of excitement for everyone. "Already," according to Mayor Koblenz "we have a brand new sports success in our community." The Mayor went on to add "I also predict the league will grow even bigger as word spreads." The teams are led by coaches Michael Kobenz, Brian Meyerson, Peter Zuckerman and Rob Appel. The sports action began on July 11, 2012 and will continue to be held on most Wednesdays during the summer from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm. The games are held at the Sports Fields at the Park at East Hills. All levels of players are encouraged to join, and spectators are invited to come on out to the ball games and cheer for their favorite team.
